To the American Bahá'í community

Dearly loved Friends,

Of the many comments and observations offered from the floor of this year's 104th Bahá'í National Convention, some of the most moving were the spontaneous and manifestly heartfelt tributes delegates paid to the power of the Black Men's Gatherings (BMG)-to the fresh insights, deeper understandings, strengthened bonds of unity, and greatly renewed consecration to the Cause of God that were the rewards of the friends' participation in them, fostering a legacy that will long endure.

Baha'i National Convention Report

Delegate to the 104th Baha'i National Convention, Robert Malouf, visted the Beloit Baha'i community June 10th to report the highlights of the event, which was held April 26th-28th in the Chicago area. Of the 174 elected delegates throughout the United States, 168 attended the convention.

Malouf, who has attended other Baha'i National Conventions, said the spirit present this year was "different" and special because of the 100th anniversary of the visit to America of  `Abdu'l-Bahá, Center of the Covenant.

Education Under Fire

Education Under Fire is produced by Single Arrow Productions and co-sponsored by Amnesty International. The 30-minute documentary profiles the growth, struggle, and inspiring spirit of the Baha´i Institute for Higher Education. Baha´is in Iran have been subjected to systematic persecution, including arrests, torture, and execution simply for refusing to recant their beliefs. They are also prohibited from going to college (and blocked from many professions).
